Frequently Asked Questions

How many days a week can my dog go with you?

We require that dogs are out in the pack a minimum of twice a week. This helps maintain consistency with the walker(s) and other pack members.

How young can I start my pup in the pack?

We start working with puppies as young as 4 months old! While they may not be ready for the pack straight away, we begin working on getting your pup comfortable leaving the house, riding in the car, and walking nicely on leash.

What is required of my pup before they can begin?

All of our pack members must be fully vaccinated, on flea/tick/heartworm prevention, and adult dogs must be spayed/neutered.

How many dogs will my dog be with in the pack?

We start dogs with just 1 or 2 other dogs, eventually growing their pack. Our packs vary day to day, depending on where we go and how many walkers are joining that outing it can be anywhere from 3 dogs to 15!

My puppy is not yet spayed/neutered, can they still join the pack?

Yes! While we must abide by local spay/neuter laws, we work with you and your pup to create a timeline for their growth.

My pup is nervous with new dogs or people, but I want structured socialization for them. Can they join the pack?

Typically, yes! Our On Track to Pack plan allows us to customize a training plan for your pup to get them comfortable with our team as well as other dogs. We will work with you along the way to ensure that you are involved in the process and that we are working as efficiently and safely as possible.

Do the dogs get to play together?

We encourage appropriate greetings and they get to see their buddies every day, but we do not allow play while in the pack. Pack members are on leash at all times and we encourage the pups to be neutral to other dogs that we pass and to learn where the boundaries are within the pack.

Do you take the dogs off leash?

We keep all of our outings on leash! Not only are there very few off leash locations in town, we find it is the best way to keep everyone safe!

Will I get to see pictures and hear about my dog’s outing?

Of course! We update our social media real time and daily, as well as sending daily reports back to you with a recap of how our day went!

What about the rain?

What about it? We are out with our packs rain or shine! While many pups benefit from a raincoat, it isn’t necessary. We clean up the pups to the best of our ability when we finish our adventure, but we always recommend owners leave towels accessible at drop off to help dry off even more.

My dog has food sensitivities/allergies, will that be ok?

Yes! Both Jenna and Hillary have dogs with allergies and understand the importance of your dog’s health. We are happy to restrict all treats, use provided treats, and we even sometimes have prescription hypoallergenic treats on hand!

Will my dog learn any commands while with you?

While we don’t specifically focus on teaching commands on hikes, most pups in the pack pick up on some language and skills quickly! We utilize a ‘right here’ or ‘heel’ command for while walking, ‘leave it’, a ‘sit stay’ or ‘down stay’ for photos, and ‘load up’ and ‘off’ for getting in and out of the car. If your dog has specific commands he or she already knows, we are always willing to use their familiar words!

When are you open?

How long will my pup be gone with you?

Adventures vary in length each day. Your pup will always have 50-60 minutes of paws on the ground activity, but depending on where our pack goes that day and how many other pups we are picking up, your pup may be gone 75 minutes all the way up to 3 hours!
